MASSIVE MULTIPLE 5 STAR REVIEW & GIVEAWAY!!!!

SYNOPSIS

If I tell you right up front, right in the beginning that I lost him, it will be easier for you to bear. You will know it’s coming, and it will hurt. But you’ll be able to prepare.

Someone found him in a laundry basket at the Quick Wash, wrapped in a towel, a few hours old and close to death. They called him Baby Moses when they shared his story on the ten o’clock news – the little baby left in a basket at a dingy Laundromat, born to a crack addict and expected to have all sorts of problems. I imagined the crack baby, Moses, having a giant crack that ran down his body, like he’d been broken at birth. I knew that wasn’t what the term meant, but the image stuck in my mind. Maybe the fact that he was broken drew me to him from the start.

It all happened before I was born, and by the time I met Moses and my mom told me all about him, the story was old news and nobody wanted anything to do with him. People love babies, even sick babies. Even crack babies. But babies grow up to be kids, and kids grow up to be teenagers. Nobody wants a messed up teenager.

And Moses was messed up. Moses was a law unto himself. But he was also strange and exotic and beautiful. To be with him would change my life in ways I could never have imagined. Maybe I should have stayed away. Maybe I should have listened. My mother warned me. Even Moses warned me. But I didn’t stay away.

And so begins a story of pain and promise, of heartache and healing, of life and death. A story of before and after, of new beginnings and never-endings. But most of all...a love story.

REVIEW

I love blogging about books, I really do. I cant imagine that I will ever dislike it.
I get a thrill out of dissecting books; picking them apart, analyzing the characters,
and feeling emotions the author intended to provoke in me. Its my favorite thing.
However, like with anything, it can at times become slightly tiresome.
The flip side is that reading books back to back, and having to think beyond the
words on the page, can diminish the joy of it. Sadly the magic fades and
as bloggers we can become a little jaded.
Which is why it is such a joyous thing to stumble across authors who make
me feel the initial fire that I did all those years ago when I first fell in love with books.

Amy Harmon is one of those authors and Law of Moses is one of those books.
I downloaded Law of Moses back in January and I didn't actually get to read it until June.
I was so blown away by it. I kicked myself for not reading sooner!
The story was so unlike anything I'd ever read before. I know we readers/bloggers
say that a lot but in this case it could not have been more true.

For me this book was a revelation. It was spiritual, enlightening, heartwarming,
intriguing and so beautifully written I was just dazzled by Amy Harmon's words.
As I read them they were no longer just print on a page, for me the words floated
and impressed themselves in my heart.

As soon as I turned the last page, I proceeded to tell everyone to read this book,
I ranted and sighed and begged those around me to read it...
and I declared publicly that I would throw away my TBR list
and only read Amy's books. Well, I haven't thrown away
my list but I did embark on the mother of all reading binges and so from  the end
of June till August I read all seven of her AHHHHHMAZING books
(with a few blog tours in between).

It has been the most illuminating and exciting 2 and a half months of my
ENTIRE READING LIFE!

Each and everyone of her stories are unique and engaging in their own ways.
Truly all of them were amazing. 'Making Faces' absolutely floored me.
'Running Barefoot' and 'Infinity +One' totally captured my heart.
'A Different Blue' and 'The Song of David' (Spin off of Law Of Moses)
were perfection.
I often found myself wondering how on earth these stories
came to her. Her words are edifying and transcendent.
They carry a deep spiritual message and honestly, I felt my soul was
completely uplifted.

The last books I read were 'Slow Dance In Purgatory' and 'Prom Night in Purgatory'.

I read the blurb and I wasn't sure I was going to like them.
They didn't sound like something I would normally read, and honestly if
Amy's name wasn't on the cover I probably wouldn't have.
But I declared I would read all her books and by this stage I trusted Amy.
So I read.... and I read.... and I read, It took me 4 days to read both books.
I was completely gobsmacked! What a fool I was to doubt, shame on me!
This is possibly my absolute, all time favorite read...EVER!!
It was unearthly and rapturous and I never never never wanted this story to end.
I don't know how she came up with this complex multi-layered plot but it
was pure brilliance.

One of the things that struck me immediately was that
her stories didn't contain provocative or
explicit sex scenes yet they
are incredibly sensuous.
Creating the kind of enticement her characters exude without the blatant
sex takes far more skill and  artistry, and honestly it was utterly refreshing.

When you sit down to read an Amy Harmon book be prepared to learn a lot,
about yourself and the world around you. For me a real awakening took place;
I was inspired to learn more about many of the underlying topics
weaved into her books, and the way I experience the world will be forever
changed... just a bit.

These books are treasures, they are food for your soul.
Her words will build you up,
and fill you with hope.
They are all hands down 5 golden star reads.

An absolute must if you're searching for something deeper!
